To expand their energy resource mix, a power utility installed 6 single fuels cells at a site to supply approximately 50 MWs of power. The supplied fuel cells came with PLCs, but the organization struggled with getting the necessary real-time and historical data to those who needed it. As a result, their only option was for operators to monitor the fuel cells using the PLC panels on the systems.

To overcome these challenges, the organization implemented HanPrism as its integrated fuel cell data platform. With HanPrism, the organization is capable of monitoring the assets regardless of location, creating reports to share throughout the team and organization, and understanding the current operations and status to prioritize maintenance. Beyond the sensor values from the equipment, users are also able to monitor electricity production, gas consumption, water consumption, and electricity sales.
